For contractors, loss adjusters and property factors

Insurance & Contractor Plasterwork in Glasgow

When a job includes period cornice or a ceiling rose, we take on that part of the work. We match the original profile, make moulds from what survives, and reinstate it so the repair sits with the existing plasterwork.

Where we fit

The part of the job a general plasterer can't match

A leak from the flat above can bring down a few metres of Victorian cornice in an afternoon. Skimming the ceiling is routine. Reproducing an enriched profile that hasn't been manufactured for a century is not, and stock coving rarely passes as a like-for-like repair.

We work as a specialist on that element only. You keep the client, the claim and the rest of the programme. We survey and record the plasterwork, take a profile or a mould from a sound section, cast or run the new lengths, and fix and blend them in.

Plaster has to be dry and sound before it is reinstated, so we check the background first and tell you if the drying isn't finished. Where damp or movement is still active, plaster repair won't solve it, and we'll say so before any work starts.

Who we work with

  • Insurance reinstatement contractors
  • Loss adjusters and loss assessors
  • Property factors and managing agents
  • Main contractors on refurbishment and conversion work
  • Architects and heritage contractors on period and listed buildings

How a job runs

From photographs to handover

01

Send photographs

A wide shot of the room, a close-up of the moulding and rough lengths are usually enough for an initial view.

02

Site visit if needed

We confirm the profile, the extent of the damage and the condition of the background, and record it in photographs.

03

Written quotation

Scope by room, in metres or items, with the survey and mould-making shown as separate lines, and what is excluded.

04

Moulds and casting

We take a profile or silicone mould from a sound section and produce the replacement lengths or enrichments.

05

Fixing and making good

New sections are fixed, jointed and blended into the original, ready for your decorator.

06

Record for the file

You receive before, during and after photographs and a note of the materials and repairs, for the claim or job file.
